The rotary airlock valve — also called a rotary feeder or star feeder — is the metering and pressure-sealing interface between atmospheric hoppers and pressurised or vacuum conveying systems. It admits bulk material from a hopper into the conveying airstream at a controlled, continuous rate while maintaining the pressure differential between the hopper above and the conveying pipeline below.
STAG AG rotary airlock valves are manufactured for continuous-duty industrial service — with hardened rotor tips and body liners for abrasive materials, adjustable tip-to-body clearances for pressure sealing, and direct-coupled gearmotor drives for reliable speed control. Available in multiple rotor configurations — standard, deep pocket, and blow-through — to suit different material flow characteristics and conveying modes.
Correctly specified rotary valves are critical to conveying system reliability. Air leakage across a worn or incorrectly sized valve directly reduces conveying performance and increases energy consumption. SaveEco sizes and specifies rotary valves from material test data.
Key Applications: Bag filter hopper evacuation · Lean phase system feeding · Vacuum conveying pickup
